Driven by Technology - Putoline Oils

Back in 1970, the foundations of Putoline Oil were laid by its founder, Jan Put. Initially focusing on lubricants for bicycles and mopeds, Jan's passion for MX drove the company to extend its line to include MX motorcycle-specific products. Rapid growth followed, and Putoline Oil soon became a renowned name.

The 1980s marked Putoline Oil's foray into the international market. In the ensuing years, continuous expansion of their product range ensued, along with an ever-growing list of export countries. Today, boasting the largest array of motorcycle lubricants and maintenance products in the world, Putoline Oil’s influence extends to almost 40 countries!

Years of hands-on experience, partly gained on the racetrack, has equipped Putoline with unparalleled expertise. Combined with rigorous research, the brand has been able to provide top-notch products at an attractive price-quality ratio. Consistency in high-quality is assured, as Putoline manufactures their oils in-house.

Putoline’s independent status as a manufacturer has enabled them to keep pace with market trends and respond promptly. Pioneers in many ways, they were the first in the motorcycle world to bring Nano Technology to lubricants. A mantra of constant innovation makes them truly "Driven by Technology!"

Nearly five decades since its inception, Putoline’s product line has grown to encompass engine oils, 2-stroke pre-mix, transmission fluid, air filter oils, brake fluids, and much more. Their selection of mineral, semi-synthetic, and full-synthetic oils covers a wide spectrum of viscosities, catering to various motorcycle needs.

Collaborations with professional teams like EAB Racing in the World Superbike Championship and World SideCarCross Champions like Marvin Vanluchene and Ben Van Den Bogaart have further honed Putoline’s products. Now, riders everywhere can experience the superior lubrication and cooling performance used by professionals.

Confusion about choosing the right oil for your ride? Allow us to demystify it and guide your lubrication choices. The key to making the right choice lies in understanding the type (mineral, semi-synthetic, full-synthetic) and the viscosity, denoted by numbers on the oil like 10W-40.

  • Mineral Oil: Refined petroleum oil treated to function across varied temperatures and fortified with additives. Ideal for everyday vehicles, farm equipment, and non-performance-oriented bikes.
  • Semi-Synthetic Oils: A fusion of synthetic and mineral oils, providing better performance across broader temperatures. Excellent for slightly performance-driven machines.
  • Fully-Synthetic Oils: Processed mineral oils purified to create an outstanding oil. Suited for performance-oriented motorcycles, aggressive riders, or racers.

While all three types initially protect well in their designated environment, fully-synthetic oil generally offers better protection throughout its lifecycle compared to semi-synthetic, which outperforms mineral oil. Changing oil at recommended intervals is always advisable.

Understanding the numbers on the oil, reflecting viscosity, can seem complicated, but it's a simple measurement of how thick the oil is. Higher viscosity oils are thicker and flow more slowly. Most oils today are multi-grade (e.g., 10W-40), where 'W' stands for Winter, denoting cold performance, and the other number represents heated viscosity. Sticking to the manufacturer's recommended viscosity is the best practice.

With its rich history, cutting-edge technology, and diverse product line, Putoline Oil continues to be a trusted name in motorcycle lubricants and maintenance, driven by a passion for innovation and quality. Whether you're a professional racer or an everyday rider, Putoline has the right solution for your lubrication needs.
